Forever Mall is a group exhibition presenting art in the form of sculpture, installation, text and hand painted signs, t-shirts, plastic bags and clothing objects as a total environment installed at Shoot The Lobster for their Summer/Fall program. The works deal with shopping culture, waste, bling, strip mall paraphernalia and the type of identity you express through your outfit and immediate surroundings. The space is transformed into a set looking somewhat like the 1999 Science Fiction TV show The Tribe, where a group of kids live in an abandoned shopping mall, banding together in a post-apocalyptic world. The overall feeling will be somewhere between mall driftwood, precious and personalized commodities and futuristic nostalgia: a store as a home, with no real aim, sort of confusing yet familiar.
The exhibition is generously supported by Nordisk Kulturfond and Statens Kunstfond
